How is your usage measured and priced?
Your usage is measured by the videos that you upload and/or stream (encoding minutes), that you store (hosting minutes), and that your viewers watch (delivery minutes) daily as follows:
Encoding Minutes: the total duration of all the videos you upload monthly. For Live videos, this is equal to the minutes you stream. For example, one uploaded video of 5 min and a live video of 30 min will result in a total of 35 encoding minutes.
Hosting Minutes: all video minutes are stored during a monthly period. This applies to all videos, including any recorded live streams. For example, if you have 2 videos of 10 minutes each stored for 15 days of a 30-day month period, your hosting total will be 10 minutes (20 minutes stored for 1/2 a month: 10 min)
Delivery Minutes: the total duration of the video that has loaded and is available for viewing by a viewer. Applicable to both Videos and live videos. For example, if a 10 min long video is watched from start to end (100%) by 500 viewers, your delivery minutes will be 5,000 minutes (10 minutes 500 100%). High-volume discounts are automatically applied as the minutes increase. Also, you can view your up-to-date usage in your Dashboard, to help you track your consumption and how many minutes you have used for the month.

No - if you ingest a two minutes video, you pay for two minutes, even if api.video delivers that same video in 6 different qualities. Learn more about the transcoding qualities here.

All pricing displayed is in US Dollar (USD). We support both USD and EUR currencies. If you are located in the European Union zone, you will be billed in EUR, for all other countries you will be billed in USD.
How will I be billed?
How will I be billed?
On the first day of every month, you will receive your bill, including your usage from the prior month. For example, on February 1st you will receive the invoice for any usage you consumed in the month of January.
If you register with us for the first time, a one-time zero invoice will be created and appear in your Dashboard. No action is required, as you will receive your first usage invoice on the first day of the following month.
